IIP advisor & program coordinator, Carly Stingl, was selected as the first recipient of the International Division‘s Early Career Award. This award was created in 2018 to “honor individuals who have been employed at UW-Madison and the International Division for fewer than 5 years, and in that time have made significant and distinctive contributions to the work of the International Division and their unit.”
Nominators highlighted Stingl’s innovative programming for internships through Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) alumni and connecting Madison Children’s Museum with the Play Africa children’s museum in South Africa. These were in addition to her extensive work expanding and refining internships for Spanish-speaking students throughout Latin America and Spain. Nominators also recognized her being both a positive influence and building strong relationships with students and colleagues across campus to make internship experiences a reality for a wide range of students with new scholarship support, outreach, in depth advising, and creative planning with internship hosts.
The IIP team is pleased to recognize and honor all the phenomenal work, new ideas, and relationships Stingl has brought to IIP and the International Division since she joined in 2014. Congratulations, Carly!
