Advising

We can help current undergraduate students with questions regarding searching and applying for internships abroad, program options (through UW, independent, or with the help of a placement provider program), getting credit, insurance, visas, funding, and opportunities available through IIP.

Carly Stingl and Michelle Kern Hall talking to students at the Study Abroad FairBefore an initial meeting go through the first short section of our workbook – the Internship Questionnaire. This will start you thinking about your interests and goals. We also recommend visiting your Career Services office to work on your resume for applications.

Getting Started Video

The IIP Getting Started Video will walk you through the steps for getting started to search for an international internship. It explains how to effectively use the IIP database, discuss other strategies for finding internships, and talk about earning course credit and applying for scholarships. This is highly recommended before coming for advising and is available to watch online.
