Teach English in China with Aston
Dalian, Jinan, or Xi’an, China
About the Internship: With three cities to choose from, interning abroad as an English teacher in China offers endless possibilities. All interns will receive training in teaching English as a second language upon arrival, which will cover a variety of important techniques and topics. As an intern, you will work closely with a Chinese teacher to prepare and teach lessons, conduct some light grading, receive feedback on teaching skills, and participate in training and professional development events. This would be a great fit if you would like to learn about teaching English as a second language, or if you would like to improve your cross-cultural skills in a Chinese workplace.
This internship offers:
- Monthly stipend of 3000 RMB (approximately $450)
- 4 hours of Mandarin language training per week (group or individual)
- Housing
- 3 days off per week
- Welcome package including a phone SIM card and bus/subway card, airport pickup, VPN internet access at school
- Internship certificate/reference letter upon successful completion
- Vacation time and bonus may be available depending on internship duration; will be confirmed upon acceptance
Teach English and STEM in the Dominican Republic with Liceo Cientifico
Villa Tapia, Dominican Republic
About the internship: Liceo Cientifico is the first and only STEM school in the Dominican Republic and primarily serves students in grades 7-12. Interns here will gain hands-on experience working with an experienced educator teaching STEM subjects, English, or French. Interns can also take the lead on elective courses, which offer students a break from their rigorous daily schedules. This would be a great experience if you are interested in secondary school education and would like to learn more about curriculum planning and implementation.
This internship offers:
- Monthly stipend of 10,000 Dominican Pesos (approximately $200)
- Housing
- Breakfast and lunch at the school
Teach English in Ecuador with Centro Ecuatoriano Norteamericano
Guayaquil, Ecuador
About the internship: CEN, the Centro Ecuatoriano Norteamericano, is an NGO whose mission is to promote the ties and relationship between Ecuador and the United States through free cultural events and English lessons. Interns will teach English to young adults, as well as assist the Academic Director with light editing, cultural event organizing, and other administrative tasks. This is a great opportunity if you are interested in learning more about working in an educational NGO, and also if you want to practice your Spanish skills!
This internship offers:
- $6.75 per hour after taxes
