  1. IIP is a great program that allows students from the University of Wisconsin – Madison to take their knowledge and skills learned in the classroom and use them abroad through internships. I was fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to teach English in Ecuador which completely took me out of my comfort zone and helped me grow as an individual. I highly recommend IIP to any student who is curious or has an interest in a career outside the U.S.!

  3. What a wonderful program! The International Internship Program at UW-Madison opened up my eyes to a whole new world and gave me a giant jump start in my career in international development. From an internship working in the IIP office at Bascom with Michelle and Maj, to a second internship working for an educational non-profit in Uganda, I was able to quickly learn the extraordinary value that international education can provide. The practical experience I gained in both of these internships set me up for success for (hopefully!) a lifetime of working internationally. I am proud to say that since graduation from UW-Madison in 2013, I have had the opportunity to work for non-profit organizations in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Benin, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Washington, D.C. I would highly recommend this program to any student that is considering – or merely curious about – the possibilities of a career abroad. There is so much to learn – and IIP provides a brilliant toolkit for students to start their international careers!
