DC SEMESTER: ELIGIBILITY

Eligibility for students to participate in the Washington, DC Semester in International Affairs includes the following criteria:

  1. A minimum 3.0 GPA
  2. Evidence of coursework in international studies.
  3. At least Junior standing. Students with senior status will have priority.

Other criteria to be be used to identify students with the strongest overall preparation include: writing skills, demonstrated ability to work independently; language skills; research experience; international experience; and demonstrable interest in international affairs.

Finalists in the selection process will be invited to a short interview, where additional information about placement and the course will be provided.

 

APPLICATION PROCESS

Students may now apply for Fall 2012 program. Application deadline is March 28, 2012.

In addition to the application, interested students also must submit:

  • Current transcript
  • Resume
  • Writing sample (2-3 pages)
  • Letter of recommendation from a faculty member.

Students are strongly encouraged to meet with a writing instructor at the UW-Madison Writing Center for assistance with resume development.
